Joined by Skorge (who also happens to be the main bad guy in Gears of War 2 ) Raam is trying to convince the Locust Queen to redirect the onslaught of their war to the surface, since the one against the lambent isn’t working so well. For those that don’t know, or missed my last review, Gears of War: Rise of Raam follows the story of Raam, the main antagonist and leader of the Locust in the first Gears of War game. That said, there is a disclaimer at the bottom of the picture saying that this is simply an “art style exploration” and the image is “not indicative of content.The story continues in issue two of the Rise of Raam series from IDW.
However, Del is notably absent from the picture. This is because Marcus has joined back up with JD and Kait. Judging by the promotional artwork, the comic will take place during or after the events of Gears of War 4. Something that big will be saved for the tentpole entries in the franchise. After all, you don’t see huge reveals like who Rey’s parents are in a Star Wars comic. While there were some major revelations about Kait and other characters at the end of Gears of War 4, it’s likely the key story events will be set aside for the games. It will be interesting to see what this comic will be about.
